Town of Aurora Pictures from the Past, Clue – Hardware Store

-

Aurora Downtown Hardware (formerly Aurora True Value Hardware) owned by Mike and Lorraine Evans. The Hardware’s store owner Mike and Lorraine Evans retired in April 2014 after 40 years in the business. Their store is now closed. The Aurora Downtown Hardware store was located on Yonge Street just few steps from Wellington Street, Town of Aurora. Ontario.

About Mike Evans: ” Michael Evans, owner of True Value Hardware in Aurora, won PowerStream’s ‘No Catch to Conserve’ program. Since Michael Evans’ Aurora business was outfitted with energy-efficient equipment, he has saved between 30 and 46 per cent on his last four hydro bills. The $886 he spent on energy- efficient upgrades has already paid off, the 62-year-old says.” Source: Aurora man honoured for saving energy

Read more about Aurora True Value Hardware here: “Mr. Evans has been an advocate for the revitalization of the downtown core for years. He has fought for lower taxes and called on the town to put a link to downtown properties for rent or sale on the municipal website, create a plan to fill vacant storefronts and offer a facade improvement incentive to businesses.” Source: Evans sells downtown building
