I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle and end.

Unfortunate endings and new beginnings – sometimes, change comes with a bittersweet farewell. The demolition of an old building marks the end of an era, a place filled with memories, stories, and history. Yet, with that ending comes the promise of something new. A new structure rises, not in the same place, but in the same spirit of progress and transformation. While we bid adieu to the familiar, we embrace the possibilities of what’s to come. It’s a reminder that every ending paves the way for a fresh start, and every new beginning offers a chance for growth, innovation, and reinvention.

As I reflect on my experiences as a resident engaged in municipal politics, I find myself often swept up in the currents of past political moments. These reflections aren't just about policies or decisions but about the broader shifts in how we've navigated civic life. The sense of nostalgia isn't just for the times when things felt simpler, but for a period when political engagement seemed more direct, more personal. As someone actively involved in the shifting dynamics of municipal issues, I often find myself questioning where the passion and clarity of earlier days have disappeared—and whether today's politics can ever reclaim that same sense of purpose.
