Fleetwood Nicks and Practically Petty Concerts in the Park Throwback

Today, the feeling of hot summer days can only be duplicated by wearing a winter jacket and boots. But last summer, I recall the hot days and cool, sometimes sticky, music-filled evenings at the Town Park – Aurora’s Concerts in the Park. I was on a mission to attended them all but fulfilled most of them. It was an interesting summer as it was also an election year – so extra publicity for the performing bands and others.

Now, all that is gone. Concerts in the Park are like a good dream. If I didn’t take photos, I would probably not remember much. Aurora municipal elections are gone too, not sure if I can call it a dream though. It was more like a continuation or extension of my interests in local politics. I really don’t feel much of a change either after the election. Perhaps it didn’t sink in yet. The majority of faces on council for the new term are the same.

Overshadowed by my Aurora municipal election interests and reporting, the Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Nicks, tribute band) concert in August was forgotten. However, never too late to show off some concert photos today, after all it is a Throwback Thursday.

As I reflect on my experiences as a resident engaged in municipal politics, I find myself often swept up in the currents of past political moments. These reflections aren't just about policies or decisions but about the broader shifts in how we've navigated civic life. The sense of nostalgia isn't just for the times when things felt simpler, but for a period when political engagement seemed more direct, more personal. As someone actively involved in the shifting dynamics of municipal issues, I often find myself questioning where the passion and clarity of earlier days have disappeared—and whether today's politics can ever reclaim that same sense of purpose.
