My parents choose to move to Aurora when I was 6-years old. They understood the impact a community can have on family. I am proud to say I have lived in Aurora for 25 years.
With 25 years of volunteer experience, a career as a Canadian Armed Forces Reserve Officer, 10 years’ experience coaching and delivering aquatic programs at the Aurora Leisure Complex, I believe I know Aurora well.
I have a master’s degree in Local Government with a focus on strategic planning and community development. I have devoted my life to public service, both as an Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and through my full-time professional career where I build and connect communities through culture, recreation, sport and community development.
I now live within two blocks of our original home in Aurora. I walk my dog on the same paths where I rode my bike as a child. I married an incredible person who shares the same sense of volunteerism and community, she inspires local youth in performing arts and culture as Department Head of Arts at a local High School. We have two incredible children who inspire me every day.
I believe I have the history, skills and knowledge to tackle Aurora’s most important issues.
Over the past few months, I have had the pleasure of speaking with many residents. I have heard you loud and clear. You value the small town charm and character that Aurora offers. You want Aurora to stay, Aurora.
You want progress, but you want it in a responsible manner. I represent a responsible, forward approach to leadership.
My platform for a responsible, forward approach includes:
- Responsible Vision for Growth
- Forward Focused Economy
- Responsible Financial Planning
I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail, thank you for the opportunity to listen and understand your vision for the future.
